Refund Policy
Last updated: September 11, 2026
We keep billing simple and predictable: try Shiftena free before you pay, cancel whenever you like, and keep everything you paid for until your period ends. This page explains exactly how that works.
Try before you pay
Every workspace can start on the free plan: a 30-day evaluation for up to 5 team members with no payment method required. It exists so you can test Shiftena with your real team before spending anything. Because of this, paid subscriptions are generally non-refundable, as described below.
Subscriptions and renewals
- Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, and renew automatically until cancelled.
- Payments are processed by Paddle as merchant of record, so the charge on your statement will reference Paddle.
Cancelling
- You can cancel at any time from your workspace's subscription settings, no email or phone call needed.
- Cancelling stops the next renewal. Your plan stays fully active until the end of the period you already paid for, and you are not charged again.
- After the paid period ends, your workspace pauses and your data is kept, so you can return later or export it. Nothing is deleted automatically.
What we do not refund
- Partially used billing periods: cancelling mid-month or mid-year does not pro-rate a refund for the unused time; you keep access instead.
- Renewals you forgot to cancel before the renewal date, where the service was available to you.
- Charges older than 60 days.
What we do refund
We will always make billing mistakes right. Contact us and we will refund:
- Duplicate charges for the same subscription period
- Charges that occurred after you cancelled
- Charges caused by a billing error on our side
- Payment for a service you genuinely could not use because of a verified, extended outage on our side
If you were charged for a yearly renewal you did not intend, contact us within 14 days of the charge and, provided the new period has seen no meaningful use, we will refund it as a courtesy.
How to request a refund
Email support@shiftena.com from your account email with the order number from your Paddle receipt and a short description of the issue. We respond within 2 business days. Approved refunds are issued by Paddle to your original payment method and typically appear within 5 to 10 business days depending on your bank.
Disputes and chargebacks
If you believe a charge is wrong, please contact us before opening a dispute with your bank. Almost every billing issue is resolved within 2 business days, which is faster than a chargeback investigation. Disputes for charges covered by the refund cases above are simply refunded. For disputes we believe are invalid, such as a charge for a service that was delivered and used, we will respond to the dispute through the payment provider with our records of the subscription and its usage.
Statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable refund or cancellation rights you have under the consumer protection laws of your country, including in the EU and UK.
