The whole workday, finally in one place
Shiftena is workforce management software for small and mid-sized teams: attendance, leave, payroll, contracts and the work itself, running as one system instead of five.
It started with numbers that never matched
Almost every small company runs its workforce the same way: attendance lives in one app, payroll in a spreadsheet, projects in another tool, and signed contracts in a folder somebody has to remember. Each piece works on its own. Together they create a monthly ritual of copying, checking and correcting, because none of them agree with each other.
The cost is not just time. When the timesheet and the payslip disagree, employees stop trusting the numbers. When managers of remote teams cannot see work happening, they either micromanage or worry. And when everything depends on one person's spreadsheet skills, the company's operations live in that one person's head.
Shiftena was built to end that ritual. Instead of connecting five tools with glue and hope, it keeps the workday's records in one system where they cannot drift apart: check-ins feed attendance, attendance feeds payroll, contracts are generated from the same employee records, and the work itself lives on boards next to all of it. It launched in 2026 as an independent product, built deliberately small, priced so a five-person team can start free.
We solve the fragmentation problem
Not another tool to add to the pile. Shiftena replaces the pile with one workspace and three promises:

Give small companies the operational clarity big companies pay enterprise prices for

Fair questions, straight answers
What exactly is Shiftena?
Shiftena is workforce management software for small and mid-sized companies. It brings the records of the workday, attendance, leave, payroll, contracts and work in progress, into one workspace instead of five disconnected tools.
Who is Shiftena for?
Teams of roughly 5 to 100 people, especially companies with remote or hybrid staff: agencies, service businesses, outsourcing teams and any employer who wants operational clarity without an enterprise price tag.
Where is my data stored and how is it protected?
Data is hosted on infrastructure in the United States, encrypted in transit, with strict per-company isolation enforced on every request. Team secrets in the vault are additionally encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they are stored.
How does Shiftena handle employee monitoring ethically?
Monitoring is a choice each employer makes, never a default. The tracker captures only while a work session is actively running, never off the clock, and employers are responsible for informing their team, which our terms make explicit.
How does Shiftena make money?
Subscriptions only. Companies pay a monthly or yearly fee based on team size and features. There are no ads, no data selling and no per-module surprise charges.
Is Shiftena a big company?
No, and we consider that a feature. Shiftena is an independent product with one accountable person behind it, which means support answers come from someone who can actually fix things.
